How to introduce a Villain
INT./EXT. RESTAURANT. LATE NIGHT.
Yemi (24, 5ft 10 inches, smart casual) gets down from his black Range Rover and walks towards the back door of a restaurant. He knocks on the closed door, it opens, and he enters.
There are two thickset thugs in black suits on the inside. Both thugs each have a sub-machine at their waist, hanging from a strap across their chest.
One of the men points his gun at Yemi, while the other frisks him thoroughly. They find no weapon on Yemi. Then One of the men leads the way while the other man walks behind Yemi with his gun pointing at Yemi’s back.
They walk through an empty, dimly lit kitchen into a short, narrow corridor and then into a large dining room, which has a lot of wooden tables and chairs, a bar, and a stage. The front door of the restaurant that leads into the large dining room, and the window blinds are closed.
The room is well-lit, and there is a mob boss (Ife, 52, fat, wearing a white agbada), sitting in a corner of the room. His two hands are resting on a silver Lion head walking cane. His body vibrates with impatience and anger.
There is a wooden table in front of Ife and a chair opposite him. Four bodyguards wearing black suits are standing behind him. Each of them is nervously cradling a submachine gun. The first two thugs usher Yemi to the chair before Ife, and one of them whispers into Ife’s right ear, and then the two thugs position themselves behind Ife.
Yemi places his two hands flat on the wooden table and calmly observes the men in front of him. Ife is visibly angry and glares at Yemi for a moment, trying to control his emotions.
IFE
You know I’m going to kill you.
Yemi holds his stare.
YEMI
No one lives forever. We are all food for maggots.
IFE
So, why are you here to die?
YEMI
(Smiles)
A Lion never walks into a group of Hyenas thinking this is the day I die.
Ife stares at Yemi with total contempt.
IFE
The way I see it, there is only one Lion here, and it’s certainly not you.
YEMI
My hands are spread out on the table, while all your men are fingering their guns.
(shakes his head)
You all stink of fear.
Ife looks at his boys and angrily shakes his head. They all take their hands off their guns. Ife looks back at the Yemi.
IFE
Where is my daughter, and what do you want?
YEMI
Your daughter is safe. I only kidnapped her to get your attention. She will be released, unharmed.
IFE
Well, you have my full, undivided attention.
YEMI
My client wants to know why you killed his son, Dele?
IFE
I don’t know any cockroach called Dele.
YEMI
You do. He was your daughter’s boyfriend.
IFE
No cockroach is fit for my daughter.
(evil smile)
Is this why you came here to commit suicide?
YEMI
No, I came to be sure and know the truth.
IFE
This truth will kill you.
YEMI
Maybe. But not today.
IFE
(looks around with arrogance)
You are out-numbered and out-gunned. You are not walking out of here alive.
YEMI
(leans forward)
So you killed Dele?
IFE
And if I did, what are you going to do about it?
Yemi leans back, his hands still spread on the table. He looks around and slowly nods his head. He quickly lifts his hands from the table and, in each hand, is a wooden submachine gun. Before Ife’s men can react, he starts to spray them with bullets.
All the thugs drop to the floor, bleeding heavily. Ife looks in shock at his men on the floor and then turns to stare at Yemi. His shock slowly turns to fear.
Yemi stands over him, smiling. He drops the sub-machine guns on the floor, and they slowly disintegrate into pieces of wood. Yemi taps the wooden table and pulls out a wooden pistol.
YEMI
So, did you kill Dele?
IFE
(stares back with defiance)
That cockroach was not fit for my daughter, or to father my grand-child.
YEMI
(Smiles)
As promised, your daughter will be released unharmed.
(dramatic pause)
Unfortunately, the first thing she will have to do is to attend your funeral.
Yemi shoots Ife between the eyes. Then, he slowly exits the restaurant the same way he came in.
