I want to talk about the movie, Brotherhood, showing on Amazon prime. But I don't want you crying in the comment section that I spoiled the movie for you.

So before I open my eyes, disappear from here. If I hear you complain, I will find you and I will...I will..I will sha do you something Sha.

Personally, I believe the first few scenes of a movie should show you what the movie is all about. Any action film that nobody dies in the first five minutes is not an action film. And in this regard, Brotherhood did well.

I like the love triangle, it led to a kind of divided loyalty, like a lady will have for her father and her lover who are at loggerhead. But in this case, she was not forced to choose. Would have being more intense if she had to choose.

Shadow was anything but scary. How can an "outsider" disrespect you twice and live to tell the tale?

First time, the outsider outrightly said No to your face and walked away confidently.

The second time, the same outsider pulled a gun on you.

Both times were in front of your boys, your main men, and the outsider lived.

Haa...

Shadow was all talk no action. Apart from blowing up a bus and shooting a cop, he was uninteresting and unmemorable.

One plausible excuse, would be that Shadow had plans for the outsider after the mission. But, I guess we will never know if that was true, would we?

On the other hand, Izzy is easily my favorite character. Reckless, wild and unpredictable. Memorable and interesting. He definitely stood out. I love the betrayal and I don't blame him, his boss was all bark, no bite.

It's called, "Tell a vision" for a reason (television).

So, why were we not shown the rescue of the "first lady" from the would be rapists? Especially how Shadow killed them. Maybe Shadow for earn my respect small.

Why were we not shown the mischief the three guys did as kids while growing up in Oshodi? Especially, the part of stealing malaria drugs for his sick brother. We never got to see and share in their hard life on the streets.

"Na story dem dey tell us."
Show us, don't tell us.

We wanna see it, feel it and believe it. After all, seeing is believing, abi na?

I enjoyed the wedding scene. It utilized the concept of "economy of movement." It was not just a scene for scene sake. It connected dots.

But, you see the shootout on the bridge, the thing no flow well jare. It could, and should have been better done.

For crying out loud, no bullion van with armed escort will sit comfortably in traffic. Bad still, the so call traffic congestion, was less than 20 cars.

In addition, how can armed police men wait until an armed robber had "safely" fallen off the bridge before opening fire?

Haba, for this Naija we we dey so.

I've many other things I could say about the bridge shootout, but let's not over flog it. However, the scene(s) no tight and no flow well well.

As per the last two scenes, me likey likey.

One scene, I like it for the dramatic effect. The other scene, I like it for the comical effect.

Overall, dem try for the movie. I'm impressed.

The thing dey ginger me to finish writing my action film 😁.

Well, lemme goan and continue writing.
