It was an unfamiliar road.

Everywhere was dark, as the street lights were not on and the sky was moonless. There were no houses on either side of the street, just trees. It seemed I was the only one walking on the street.

I was not sure how I got here or where I was going. I spotted what looked like a house with the front door lights on. I started to walk towards it.

It felt like something was watching me I turned to look behind and saw nothing. I looked towards the trees on my right, and I saw a pair of eyes staring back at me. It definitely didn’t look like a human.

I started to walk fast, trying not to run. But each time I turned to look at the right, the eyes were always level with where I was. I panicked and started to run. The animal broke cover and ran after me.

It was a big, black Wolf.

I knew I could not outrun it. So I ran towards the trees on my left. It came after me. I could hear it snarling as it gave chase. I got to a tree with a low-hanging branch, jumped to grab the branch, swung my feet upwards, and started to go up the tree as fast as I could.

The animal got to the tree and jumped at my dangling foot. I felt its breath on my ankle and heard the jaw snap shut just inches from my foot. As I turned to look back at the snarling black Wolf, the tree branch I had climbed on snapped. I dived sideways to catch another branch and missed it.

But something sharp and painful grabbed me by the wrist and hung on. I looked down to see that the Wolf was stationed directly under me. Its sharp, white teeth were bared at me and it was poised for another jump. I was grateful and fearful at the same time, at least I was not on the ground with it.

Then I screamed in pain, as the hold on my wrist pierced my skin, and the hold started to coil around my hand.

I looked up.

It was a Python that had hooked its fangs into my wrist, and its body was slowly coiling around my arm, heading towards my body.

I jerked awake in a cold sweat.

It was a dream.
